Cute Character Bookmark

Hi! Just done reading a novel which took me ages to finish. It wasn't a hard book to read  like a Physics textbook lol! What is hard is returning to the last page or chapter you read. That is why bookmarks are invented.There are lots of bookmarks you can choose from, and a Page-Corner Bookmark is one of the cutest one.
It is easy to make, artistic and colorful too. -dian

This are the steps.

     What you need:

1. Gather your supplies.
    a.  Different colored paper.

     b. Glue, pair of scissors, pen and colored markers.

2. Let's make it!

a. First choose a character you want to put on your book mark. I choose a Pokémon character which is Gengar. It is a shadow like Pokémon with a sinister smile. A cutie!

b. Now cut a square piece of colored paper, choose the same color as your character. The size is to your liking but mine is 5 inches x 5 inches.

c. We will now proceed to folding the paper into the shape of a triangle, then into a smaller shaped square. I think you got the idea on how to do it, if not this are the illustrations to follow.

d. Now that we have a smaller square we will again fold the two flaps up to make the ears of our character.

 

e.Glue the flap or the ears to the diamond head to secure.

 
f. See, now we have two pointy ears. We will start constructing the face of our character, start by flipping the paper backwards. Like the picture.
 

 

g. Flip the other flap of paper from the opposite side of the ears upward, towards the ears. Then glue it.

h. Let the glue dry. While we are waiting for the glue to dry let's look at the picture of our chosen character.

i. Gengar has red eyes and a big white smile. So we have to cut out two eyes from a red colored paper and a wide smile from a white paper.

j.When the glue is dry assemble the eyes and the smile to the diamond shaped paper. Put the eyes on top while the smile is partly hidden under the flap.

k. Looking back at the picture of gengar it has a little spikes of hair on its head, so we are going to add that. Darken the line of the eyes a bit more and also the smile. Put more details and Voila! Our Pokémon Gengar Page-Corner Bookmark is complete.

 You can also make other Pokémon characters or cartoons the only limit is your imagination. Have fun making and reading. -dian
